Samuel Stratford
Samuel is a Senior Researcher in the Political Economy and Governance team. His responsibilities include research on the political economy of the net zero transition and assisting in the development of the Centre for Political Economy of Climate Change.

Prior to joining E3G Samuel conducted research on the political economy of hydropower dams at the University of Manchester and before that worked in political risk as an Intelligence Analyst. His research has primarily focused on countries in East Africa.
Samuel holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor’s in Politics and International Relations from the University of Manchester.
In his spare time Samuel enjoys hiking, trading and plays a number of sports including padel and football. He loves nature and tries to go on safari as much as possible!
