Policy Advisor

Pietro is a Policy Advisor on EU Sustainable Finance at the E3G Brussels office. He works on how to finance the strategic goals of the European Green Deal.

Pietro Cesaro

Pietro’s work deals with policy reforms enhancing the environmental ambition of the EU economy and with finance mechanisms able to unlock the green transition. He also works on ensuring that Europe plays a leading role in setting ambitious international norms. Pietro coordinates networks where he brings together actors from the private and public sectors dealing with Sustainable Finance.

Before joining E3G in March 2022, Pietro coordinated the Sustainable Finance and Just Transition work-streams at ERCST, a Brussels-based climate policy think tank. His previous roles include being a Policy Assistant to the Principal Adviser on Green Finance at the EU Commission (DG Environment) and working at the UNFCCC in Bonn.

Pietro holds an MSc in Economics with a major in Economic Policy from the University of Lugano, with exchanges at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the KU Leuven (KUL).

In his free time, Pietro writes short novels and studies literature. In 2018 he co-founded, with other young professionals, the Italian climate magazine “Duegradi”.
