Leo Vincent

Policy Advisor

Leo is a Policy Advisor in E3G’s UK Place-Based Transitions workstream in the Clean Economy team, with a focus on the electrification of heat.

Leo’s work promotes the electrification and decarbonisation of heat through trade and industry cooperation, political and parliamentary engagement, and linkage with sustainable finance and investment organisations. 

This includes working to coordinate, align and promote the Electrify Heat coalition, where E3G acts as secretariat. He is also developing an amended political strategy for the electrification of heat programme, including ongoing political mapping and stakeholder management. His research is currently focused on heat pumps (markets, government schemes, industry), emerging technologies in the clean electricity space, the global and domestic energy crisis, and housing stock. 

Leo has worked in BEIS’ Clean Electricity Directorate as a policy advisor on renewable energy schemes and in DEFRA’s Northern Ireland Directorate in strategic finance and NI Protocol Bill teams. 

He studied Geopolitics (BA Hons) at the University of Birmingham with a focus on environmental and political geographies. 

Leo is a PADI certified rescue diver and enjoys creative writing, being in nature, and indie music.
