Maike is a policy advisor for E3G’s Fossil Fuel Transition team advocating on the decarbonisation of the power system and necessary electricity grid development in Europe.

Maike in the media

Maike works with governments, power grid operators and civil society groups to advance EU and national policies in support of a coal phase-out and electricity grids that ready to integrate an increasing amount of renewable energy.

Her focus lies on Central and Eastern European countries. Maike advocates for the adoption of more ambitious energy policies in the region and works to improve the cooperation between stakeholders in the wider region.

Prior to joining E3G, Maike spent 3 years as policy analyst at the OECD Environment Directorate, conducting climate policy and data analyses as well as facilitating policy and technical dialogues among governments, industry and academia across OECD member and partner countries. Maike holds an MSc in Environment and Development from King’s College London and has lived and worked in France, Australia, the United States, and Germany. 

Outside of work Maike is an avid beach volleyball player, an enthusiastic hiker, and generally up for any type of sport and occasional painting sessions.
