Programme Lead
Pieter de Pous is a Programme Lead in International Hub Berlin, His role focuses on advising the European diplomatic community as well as civil society on opportunities for accelerating the global transition to a fossil free power sector, keeping the EU in a leadership role.
Pieter in the media
Pieter works with governments, civil society groups and EU institutions to advance EU and national policies in support of a coal phase-out and a just transition. His area of expertise is in ecology, EU decision-making, environmental and energy policies and transition processes.
Prior to joining E3G Pieter spend 14 years working for Europe’s largest NGO, European Environmental Bureau, 7 of which as its policy director. In this role, he has helped advance the EU’s environmental agenda in areas ranging from chemical safety, biodiversity to energy and circular economy.
Pieter holds an MSc from the University of Wageningen, Netherlands.
He tries to spend his free time as much as possible outdoors.
