@PepeEscrig Pepe Escrig

He carries out research and strategic assessments of the barriers to rapid climate action in the EU and helps find effective responses across a range of issues, geographies and sectors. He also supports E3G’s climate governance work, aiming at establishing the mechanisms that ensure climate action is effective, based on science and sustained over time.

Pepe was previously E3G’s Communications Officer in Brussels, where he contributed to E3G’s content quality and dissemination, and implemented outreach strategies around EU-level outcomes. Before joining E3G, he worked as a political and communications advisor for policymakers in the European Parliament and Spain, as well as a Communications Officer at EASPD (the European Association of Service Providers for Persons with Disabilities).

Pepe graduated in Journalism from the Universitat Jaume I (Spain), holds a Master’s in Political and Institutional Communications from the Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, and has a Specialisation Master’s in Sociology-Anthropology from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, which master thesis focused on the evolution of the EU’s climate policy paradigm.

In his free time, he enjoys dancing Swing, watching documentary-like videos to learn new things, doing sports, and playing board games.
