Leo in the media
Leo works with research and analytical communities around the world on coal-to-clean power sector transition policy and politics. His areas of expertise include mapping the global distribution of coal power, strategic, technical and financial approaches to decarbonising power generation, and ensuring a just transition for workers and communities (including specific expertise on the Just Energy Transition Partnerships). He has also produced work on stranded assets, carbon capture and storage, and fossil fuel supply-side policy.
Prior to joining E3G, Leo spent ten years working on low-carbon development in the Global South, delivering and overseeing research on a variety of topics around fossil fuel phase-out and renewable energy policy. He has also spent time with PwC, working with UNFCCC negotiators from the Least Developed Country and Small Island Developing States groups.
Leo holds a BA in Geography and an MA in International Development, both from the University of Sheffield. Like many colleagues in the climate change space, Leo spends much of his free time either in the mountains, or surfing.
