James is a Senior Researcher in E3G's Placed-Based Transitions Team. He conducts analysis on the transition to net zero and more energy efficient buildings.

Day-to-day, James divides his time between long-term research projects and responding to developments including briefing notes, letters, and press releases. In his research, he brings together deep knowledge within E3G, data analysis, and views from stakeholders and partners to influence politics and policy.
Before E3G James worked in Ricardo’s Environmental Policy team, where he did public sector policy evaluation and climate action planning.
James holds a BSc in History and Philosophy and an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from LSE.
James is interested in running, music, crafts and a fair, inclusive and rapid transition to net zero!
