Samora Levy

Senior Policy Advisor

Samora is a Senior Policy Advisor in the Coal Transitions team, leading E3G’s work on the newly created Energy Transition Council for COP26.

Samora’s work at E3G focuses on delivering the best possible outcomes on energy transitions and the move away from coal at COP26 and beyond through the Energy Transition Council. He works across this area, supporting countries in Africa and Asia to make the transition and the UK Government in running the ETC through their COP presidency.

Previously to joining E3G Samora worked at The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy in a number of roles across energy and climate. Most recently he led an Industrial Strategy team focusing on the Grand Challenges, working on some of the greatest challenges and opportunities facing the UK and the world, including climate change. Before BEIS Sam worked as a consultant on sustainability, climate and renewable projects at Cleantech Advisory and as a research assistant on climate finance and green growth at Overseas Development Institute.

He holds a BSc in Geography from the University of Edinburgh and an MSc in Environmental Technology from Imperial College London.

Samora is a keen walker, cyclist and sometimes climber and gardener and likes getting out into nature as often as possible. He has also developed a serious lockdown sourdough baking habit.
