Julian Havers

Programme Leader

Julian Havers is Programme Leader of Public Banks at E3G. His work focuses on ensuring that Multilateral Development Banks will spearhead the transition to a climate safe world.

Julian Havers

Julian works with Governments and Civil Society to drive climate ambition in the world’s ecosystem of public banks. His areas of expertise include aid to developing countries including climate finance, the Paris Alignment of Multilateral Development Banks and global governance. Julian also oversees the delivery of the Public Banks team core products, which includes the E3G Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix and briefing services.  

He previously served as a delegate in the G20 Climate Stewardship Working Group of the G20 for Germany and was involved in enhancing the EU’s emissions reduction target to 55% and in UN negotiations leading to the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals. He holds a Masters’ degree from School of Oriental and African Studies.

Having grown up close to Bavaria’s mountains Julian constantly misses nature and spends his free time exploring the many lakes around Berlin with his bicycle.
