Jonathan researches diplomacy between the United States and Europe related to the energy transition.

Before working at E3G, Jonathan previously worked at the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER), where he was a member of a team focused on implementing the state’s solar energy programs and Renewable Energy Portfolio Standard. Before beginning at DOER, he completed graduate research and internships centred on climate and environmental policy and politics, and was a US Department of State Fulbright English Teaching Assistant at Premier University in Chittagong, Bangladesh.

He received a master’s degree in Environmental Management with a focus on climate science and policy from the Yale School of the Environment, and a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies/Government with a minor in Earth and Oceanographic Science from Bowdoin College.

Outside of work, he enjoys learning Spanish and being on the water.
