Research Manager

James is a Research Manager at E3G, working across the Sustainable Finance and Political Economy and Governance programmes.

James Hawkins

James is responsible for managing the E3G Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix and works on the development of the Centre for the Political Economy of Climate Change (CPECC).

James collaborates with governments, finance institutions and research communities throughout his work. His areas of expertise include political economy analysis and the alignment of development finance institutions with the Paris Agreement. James also provides data analysis and visualisation support across E3G programmes.

Prior to E3G, James worked as an analyst at Carbon Intelligence, where he focussed on improving energy efficiency in the built environment through data-driven insights.

James holds an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Geography from the University of Birmingham.
