James is a Senior Researcher at E3G, working across the Sustainable Finance and Political Economy and Governance programmes. He is responsible for delivering political economy analysis in key countries and undertaking research on the role of development finance institutions in addressing climate change.
James collaborates with governments, finance institutions and research communities throughout his work. His areas of focus include the alignment of development finance institutions with the Paris Agreement and evaluating the position of climate resilience and sustainable cooling within countries. James also provides data analysis and visualisation support across E3G programmes.
Prior to E3G, James worked as an analyst at Carbon Intelligence, where he focussed on improving energy efficiency in the built environment through data-driven insights.
James holds an MSc in Carbon Management from the University of Edinburgh and a BSc in Geography from the University of Birmingham.
