All the country pavilions are hosting events focused on resilience today. Resilience is not just featured in the pavilions of developing countries issues or countries most vulnerable to climate change, but in all countries – the European Union, for example, discussed economic costs on cities while the United States have a showcase which features issues of food security.
Discussions are moving away from purely mitigation, but the negotiations and atmosphere around COP21 now recognises the importance of talking about adaptation and dealing with the impacts of climate change, thus creating a more balanced approach towards climate talks.
