The EU Green Deal sets out an ambitious framework for phasing out fossil fuels, notably fossil gas. The speed and scale of the potential transformation will be enormous, and the bloc’s suppliers need to develop strategies to adapt.

This briefing outlines why fossil fuel suppliers to the EU need to act now. It also examines the factors that will shape how Norway will likely be affected; as a supplier country that uniquely relies on the EU for 66-73% of its gas exports over the last five years.
