E3G welcomes Alden Meyer, Principal at Performance Partners, as a Senior Associate working on US and international climate policy and politics.
Alden joins E3G with over four decades of experience on environmental and energy issues at the state and national level, most recently as Director of Strategy and Policy for the Union of Concerned Scientists and Co-director of its Washington D.C. office. Prior to this, he served as Executive Director of four national organisations: the League of Conservation Voters, Americans for the Environment, Environmental Action and the Environmental Action Foundation.
Alden is an expert on the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, the Paris Agreement, and other aspects of international climate policy; having attended the climate negotiations since they began in 1991. This longstanding, valued experience will drive E3G’s analysis and insight at a crucial moment for international climate policy.

We are incredibly pleased to welcome him to E3G as a Senior Associate and look forward to drawing on his knowledge and expertise to further our mission.”
“I have valued my collaboration with Nick and so many others at E3G over the years on climate policy and politics and am thrilled to be working even more closely with them in this new role. With a new administration taking power next week in Washington and the climate summit in Glasgow just ten months away, we have a real opportunity to secure the transformational action that’s so urgently needed to confront the climate crisis. It’s game on, and I’m all in!”
