We are pleased to announce that E3G’s head of EU politics, Lucie Mattera, will take over as head of the Brussels office while Manon Dufour goes on maternity leave.

Lucie is currently number second in command in our Brussels office. Since joining in 2020 she has led E3G’s European work within its political economy and governance cluster. Her role focuses on shaping E3G’s engagement across EU institutions and key Member States. She will continue this effort while focusing on developing even further the Brussels office’ influence during Manon’s leave, maintaining E3G’s excellent thought leadership and publication standards.

Lucie has extensive European political experience, having worked in the European Parliament, at cabinet level in the French Ministry for the Economy and Finance and the European Commission, in the cabinet of the President of the European Council and at the U.S. Mission to the EU (State Department).

Since joining E3G in 2012, Manon has proved an invaluable asset to E3G’s work. Her efforts have shaped and disseminated E3G messaging in Brussels and across Europe. She spearheaded the growth of our Brussels operation, which has expanded from two to more than 15 staff during her time at E3G. She is also a much sought-after expert on EU climate and energy policies. We wish Manon the best on her leave and look forward to her return.

E3G Brussels was established 15 years ago. It is the home of most of E3G Europe’s team members working on EU climate and energy policies. E3G has offices in Brussels, Berlin, Washington DC and London. E3G is an independent climate and energy think tank working to accelerate the transition to a low-carbon economy. In 2018 E3G was ranked the fifth-best environmental think tank in the world by the Go To Think Tank Index.
