Vanessa Nakate
Intern - Global Clean Power Diplomacy
Vanessa is currently working as a research-based intern within E3G's Global Clean Power Diplomacy team.

She supports E3G’s coalition-building work with African civil society organisations and contributes to in-depth analysis identifying barriers and opportunities to unlock affordable climate finance for the energy transition in African countries.
Her day-to-day work involves participating in calls, collaborating with colleagues in internal meetings, setting daily priorities, and conducting research on Africa’s energy transition.
Previously, Vanessa co-founded a youth climate organisation in Uganda, where she led the implementation of its strategy and core programmes. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Makerere University Business School and is completing a Master of Public Policy at the University of Oxford (2025).
In her free time, Vanessa enjoys reading and watching films.
