Hamsa supports E3G’s international work on accelerating the global transition to clean power through diplomacy, political analysis, and coalition-building.

Her work focuses on the political economy of the power sector, including coal phaseout, clean power deployment, and emerging risks from gas expansion. She contributes to political mapping, country diagnostics, and international engagement strategies that align energy infrastructure decisions with 1.5°C-consistent pathways. Her research and analytical outputs support diplomatic initiatives across the G7, G20, and other international coalitions working to accelerate the global clean power transition.

Prior to joining E3G, Hamsa worked as a management consultant in Chicago, advising nonprofit and corporate clients on strategy and organizational transitions. She has also held research roles in political economy and public policy.

Hamsa is an economist by training and holds a Master’s in International Economics from the Berlin School of Economics and Law (Hochschule für Wirtschaft und Recht Berlin) as a DAAD scholar, and a BA in Economics (Honors) from Claremont McKenna College (California, USA).

Outside of work, she enjoys gravel cycling, bouldering, and world history.
