Junior Researcher

Shirmai is a Junior Researcher working on Sustainable Finance at E3G.

Shirmai supports the work of E3G’s Public Bank Climate Tracker Matrix, which assesses how the most well-known public banks, including Multilateral and National Development Banks, are mainstreaming climate change into their work. 

Prior to joining E3G, Shirmai worked for adelphi’s sustainable finance team and the Hong Kong Government’s Environmental and Ecology Bureau. Outside of E3G, she is currently a youth advisor for the Climate Overshoot Commission.   

Shirmai holds a BA in Environmental Studies and Government from Wesleyan University, USA as a Freeman Asian Scholar and is currently completing a Master’s in Public Policy at the Hertie School, where she receives the sustainability and energy policy full-tuition scholarship.   

In her free time, she enjoys trying out new recipes, making cocktails, embroidery, and wrapping dumplings for her friends & loved ones.
