Global leaders will meet in Egypt in just over a week for what has been dubbed the “African COP”.  Making progress on Loss and Damage is set to be the defining issue of the talks.

With devastating floods in Pakistan and severe hunger and drought in the Horn of Africa, the price being paid for climate change by those who have least contributed to it is all too obvious.

As we set out in our briefing on loss and damage in June, making progress on this issue is in everyone’s interests.  It is a moral issue, but it is also creating global financial instability and security risks.

In this infographic, we set out a package of actions that need to be taken both at COP27 and outside the UNFCCC process.
