Alexander (Al-Iskander) Erzini Vernoit is a Senior Associate at E3G. His current work at E3G centres around mobilising sustainable finance at scale for responding to the climate crisis in developing countries, including the requisite politics, diplomacy, and cooperation.

As part of this work, Iskander advises a range of governments, civil society and non-state actors on issues relating to climate change and finance. Iskander’s background is in climate policy, especially in relation to matters of sustainable development, investment, diplomacy, and the transition to low-carbon and resilient societies.

Iskander began his career as a climate negotiator for the Kingdom of Morocco on the COP22 Presidency. He has also held climate-related roles in academia, advocacy, and socially responsible investment.

Iskander holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Political Science (Interdisciplinary Concentration in Climate Politics) from Yale University.
