Dr Shin Wei NG joined E3G in 2008. She was a policy expert on climate change and low carbon development in China, and on the EU-China relationship. Her work focused on EU-China city-partnership on low carbon urbanisation, green finance in China and financing Energy Union in Europe, as well as EU-China cooperation on climate change.
In addition to that, Shin Wei has also been involved in research ranging from the North Seas Grid, UK infrastructure, transparency and accountability, climate diplomacy and climate security.
Prior to joining E3G Shin Wei completed a Ph.D in Law at University College London (UCL), where she focused on the issue of property rights and regulation of collective forestland in China. Shin Wei has worked as a researcher for various university professors and as a teaching assistant for the LL.M course of International Environmental Law at UCL. This was preceded by a Masters of Law in Environmental Law (UCL), the Legal Practice Course (Oxford Institute of Legal Practice) and a law degree (University of Leeds). Shin Wei speaks Mandarin, English and Malay.
