Roxana Dela works with the Brussels team as a Senior Researcher in Clean Economy, focused on Place-Based Transitions.

Her current work focuses on driving the built environment’s journey to net zero with the aime to secure people-centered benefits. She advocates for the adoption of an integrated approach that includes heating and cooling decarbonisation, energy efficiency and circularity. In parallel to engaging on this topic at the EU level, she works closely with a wide range of stakeholders in Spain.
Additionally, she has developed an expertise at the nexus of sustainable finance and buildings decarbonization, engaging with public and private financial institutions and analysing best practice from across Europe on how to accelerate the flow of private capital into renovation and energy efficiency.
Roxana Dela has previously worked in the sustainable housing and smart cities sector. She is a former Blue Book trainee at DG CLIMA where she worked on carbon leakage (EU ETS).
She holds an MSc in Environmental Impact Assessment from the University of Manchester, and a Masters in Political Economy of the Environment from Grenoble Alpes University.
In her free time, she is actively engaged in the local emergence of a community-building process, learning with others how to build individual and collective capacity to be active agents of social change.
