Rebekka Popp is a Researcher in E3G's Berlin office. Her work focuses on the Just Transition to climate neutrality in the EU, in particular in the coal and industrial sector.

She coordinates E3G’s activities in Central and Eastern Europe.

Through her work, she aims to strengthen the role of Just Transition in EU legislation and in political processes in Germany and Central and Eastern European countries. Next to Just Transition, her areas of expertise include coal phase out, industry decarbonisation and the political economy of climate action in Central and Eastern Europe.

Before joining E3G in 2018, Rebekka was an assistant to the leaders of the Green Party’s Berlin chapter and worked on international climate politics at GIZ and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).

Rebekka holds an MA in Political Science from the University of Potsdam as well as a BA in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Mannheim.

Whenever she can, she escapes the city for bike and hiking trips.
