Rebekka Popp is a Researcher in E3G’s Berlin office. Her work concentrates on the low-carbon transformation in Germany and Europe, including coal phase out and Just Transition. She also supports E3G’s Climate Diplomacy team.
Before joining E3G in 2018, Rebekka worked on NDC planning and implementation at GIZ. She has also been a guest researcher at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) where she looked into financing options for loss and damage. During her master’s degree, she was assistant to the party leaders of the Green Party of Berlin, which provided her with extensive insight into campaigning and political processes at the local level.
Rebekka holds a MA in Political Science from the University of Potsdam as well as a BA in Political Science and Spanish from the University of Mannheim. In her master’s thesis, she analysed the role of small island developing states in the negotiations on loss and damage in the lead up to the Paris Agreement.
