Rebecca Lawson was formerly a policy advisor working in E3G’s Low Carbon Finance programme where she is focused mainly upon energy efficiency policy and financing issues, particularly in the context of the debate around the EU 2030 climate and energy framework.
Prior to joining E3G, Rebecca worked as a senior associate in the environment team at international law firm Allen & Overy. There she advised high profile multi-national corporations on a broad range of issues related to environmental and climate change law and policy.
Rebecca has undertaken a broad range of pro bono work, including advising developing countries delegations on legal issues arising from the COP discussions through the Legal Response Initiative and working with the business sustainability organisation Forum for the Future on a range of projects designed to strengthen the contribution of community renewable energy projects to the decarbonisation of our energy system.
Rebecca has an MSc in Business Strategy, Environment and Politics from Birkbeck University where her dissertation focused upon the impact of the Stern Report on the business response to climate change.
