Michele leads E3G’s Programme on Industry Transition and Trade.

Michele’s work focuses on sustaining the momentum for industrial decarbonisation and ensuring that trade policies are designed to incorporate climate ambitions. His areas of expertise include industrial and trade policy as well as the political economy of reforms.

Prior to joining E3G, Michele worked for eight years at the OECD at the intersection of several policy domains. He carried out research and provided strategic guidance for the implementation of structural reforms and supported multilateral processes in the area of industrial policy including by facilitating political negotiations at the G20 level concerning excess steel production capacity and trade distortions.

Michele holds two MSc degrees, one in Macroeconomic Policy from the Barcelona School of Economics and one in Economics of Innovation from Bocconi University.

In his spare time, he enjoys catching waves around Europe attempting to improve his surfing technique and running.
