Alexander (Iskander) Erzini Vernoit is a Policy Advisor at E3G, where his work centres around sustainable finance. In particular, he is currently focused on the UK Presidency of COP26 and how it can deliver robust domestic and international outcomes on the finance agenda.
Iskander has a background in climate policy, especially issues of finance, diplomacy and the transition to a low-carbon, resilient economy. He began his career working as a climate negotiator and project officer for the Kingdom of Morocco on the Presidency of COP22/CMP12/CMA1, of which the 2016 UN Climate Change Conference was hosted in Marrakech. Among other roles, Iskander has worked as a research assistant for the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, co-chaired the Dwight Hall Socially Responsible Investment Fund, and also worked for the investor-focused non-profit ShareAction.
Iskander holds an MSc in Environmental Policy and Regulation from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA in Political Science (Interdisciplinary Concentration in Climate Politics) from Yale University.
