Eamon Ryan is the leader of the Green Party in Ireland. He was Minister of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources in the Irish Government from June 2007 to January 2011.
He spent the previous five years as a Member of Parliament and opposition convenor on the parliamentary committee representing the same energy and communications areas.
Prior to entering full time politics he established a leading holiday company, cycling safaris ltd.
In the early 1990’s he was the founding chairman of the Dublin Cycling Campaign and was a member of the Dublin Transportation Office advisory committee.
