Energy efficiency: integral to energy policy or forgotten opportunity

Energy UK

UK Energy will host a breakfast briefing in association with CGI on 29 January 2019 from 8:30-10:30 AM. A panel of experts, including E3G Associate Director Ed Matthew, will discuss energy efficiency.

As highlighted in the recent IPCC report, energy efficiency has a key role to play in helping the UK meet its future carbon reduction commitments.  It helps people save money on their energy bills, can reduce pressure on the NHS and also help industries and businesses bring down overall costs to customers.

Join expert panellists to discuss the Government’s approach to energy efficiency and whether it is missing an opportunity to address climate change, fuel poverty and wider societal issues through a comprehensive energy efficiency policy.

Speakers include:

Sian Gardener, Director Consulting Services, CGI (Chair)

Ed Matthew, Associate Director, E3G
Simon Evans, Deputy Editor and Policy Editor, Carbon Brief
Isabella O'Dowd, Climate Change Specialist, WWF
David Weatherall, Head of Policy, Energy Saving Trust
