Some ProgressPlease see the IBRD/IDA tab for analysis of IFC in this section, as IFC has been incorporated there.

Explanation

Most of the analysis of the IFC and World Bank Group as a whole can be found under the IBRD/IDA metric.

The IFC does not appear to have specific programmes dedicated to modern energy access, but access does fall under their work in power.  Specific projects that aim to increase energy access fall under climate change, such as installing solar panels to supply schools in the West Bank  with clean and secure power or the IFC’s partnership with the Italian government through the Clean Energy Access Partnership which aims to expand modern energy access in developing countries.  The IFC also promotes clean energy awareness by providing resources on emerging energy sources such as offshore wind and solar PV, which could potentially be used in their work in energy access.

Recommendation:  The IFC should consider setting specific energy access targets, aligned with SE4All indicators, to guide their work in this area.
