The following article has been recommended to you. You can find the original article together with any associated downloads at http://www.e3g.org/programmes/climate-articles/europe-in-the-world-pamphlet-published-today/ ********************************************************************************* The new E3G pamphlet ‘Europe in the World: Political Choices for Security and Prosperity’ is published today. A pdf version (3MB) is attached for download. We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed over the last couple of years to the development of the ideas expressed in the pamphlet. We hope that we have distilled into its political argument the perspectives and suggestions raised throughout the series of ‘thinking events’, workshops, and conversations held in Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, London, Paris, Strasbourg, and Venice. Later this evening we will be holding a launch event in Brussels, hosted by our friends at The Centre and including responses from Margot Wallström, Vice-President, European Commission; John Ashton, E3G Founding Director and Special Representative for Climate Change, UK Foreign Office; and Corrado Clini, Director General, Italian Ministry for Environment. ‘Europe in the World’ Pamphlet Cover We’ll also be discussing the pamphlet ideas with individuals from the EU institutions, thinktanks, NGOs and businesses over the next couple of days. Then, in the New Year, we plan to discuss the pamphlet’s proposals in key EU capitals. With the 50th anniversary of the EU fast approaching we would in particular like to inject a sense of urgency into the discussions surrounding action on Climate and Energy security. We hope that readers of the pamphlet will feel sufficiently inspired to add their comments here - we’d love to receive feedback as to whether the pamphlet’s argument resonates across Europe. If you’d like to be kept informed as to the ongoing activities associated with implementing these pamphlet ideas, please do sign up for our electronic newsletter.
