Back in November, E3G’s Nick Mabey participated in the Friends of Europe policy summit Energy Europe: Security of supply, competitiveness and environmental sustainability .

The first section of the report includes a great little soundbite from Nick:

Increasing energy efficiency and promoting alternative sources of energy such as renewables will help promote sustainable development, enhance the competitiveness of the energy sector and increase security of supply. UK Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks agrees. For him global warming and energy security are two sides of the same coin, while Nick Mabey, Chief Executive of E3G, goes further, asserting that climate change is in fact a security issue: Climate change needs to become the defining theme of the EU project.
