The Global Technology Investment Challenge

A meeting in London this week brought together EU negotiators on Climate Change and Technology Transfer. The aim was to think through areas of shared interest. Both Jennifer Morgan and Nick Mabey participated in the meeting for E3G.

Nick’s presentation to negotiators drew on his wide experience of the technology policy field, which includes work at GEC / Powergen; MIT Energy Lab; London Business School; the UK Foreign Office; and the UK Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit.

His presentation considered the issues of:

the EU’s needs in the future technology policy landscape;

the economics of transformation; and

issues of technology deployment including IPR, Public Goods, Competitiveness, Technical Standards, Regulation, and System Change.
