FIN24: Reaction to State of the Union Address

South Africa’s FIN24 carries an article on President Bush’s State of the Union address this week, with a particular focus on his energy security and climate change announcements.

A range of views are given from environmental groups and other notables, including Sir Nicholas Stern, before attention turns to whether Bush’s announcements reflect the level of concern shown elsewhere in the USA.

He’s clearly out of step with where the American public and US Congress are right now on climate change, which is ready to go much further than continuing technology initiatives”
