Jesse ScottJesse Scott leads E3G’s work on ‘Europe in the World’ and E3G's engagement with EU institutions in Brussels. She joined E3G in December 2007.

Jesse’s work currently focuses on climate and energy policy in the European Council and the EU legislative process, financing for low carbon innovation and infrastructure in the context of the EU budget reform debate, and the upcoming Italian Presidency of the G8.

Prior to joining E3G, Jesse has worked in academe, for the European Parliament, with the European Convention during the drafting of the EU Constitutional Treaty, at White & Case LLP, and in Italy with political leaders including Giuliano Amato. She is a founding member of the Rome-based Associazione per la Democrazia Informata which promotes Deliberative Polling(TM) in Europe.

Jesse has a BA and MPhil in History from Cambridge University, and will shortly defend a PhD in History of Law from the European University Institute of Florence. Her academic work has focused on the evolution and future of international and EU constitutional arrangements, and on the capacity of public debate to help define European missions.

She speaks fluent Italian and will improve her French and Flemish.
