Claire Langley
Senior Researcher
Claire joined E3G in April 2008 as part of the London-based research team. Since then, she has worked mainly on international climate change policy and the politics and process around a global climate deal in the UNFCCC.
Her research has focused on domestic policies in key countries around the world, including analysis on energy, transport, and clean technology sectors as well as economic policies. Claire has worked alongside stakeholders such as UK Government Ministries, negotiators, civil society and academics to deliver various outcomes including publications, proposals, campaign strategies and political briefs.
Prior to joining E3G Claire worked as a volunteer for Mercy Corps UK, assessing the sustainability and environmental impacts of their global projects and programmes with a focus on Latin America. Previously, Claire had worked as an intern with Action Against Hunger UK in their research division, Hunger Watch.
Claire holds an MSc in Environment and Development from the University of Edinburgh where she developed interests in climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies in developing countries, poverty reduction and the political process - resulting in work focused on the impacts of climate change on vulnerable communities in Least Developed Countries. Claire also holds a BA in History from Acadia University in her home country, Canada.
