Shin Wei Ng

imageDr Shin Wei Ng has just completed her Ph.D in Law from University College London before she joined E3G. Her research focused on the collective forestland in China in relation to property rights.

During her Ph.D research, Shin Wei was involved in two projects funded by the China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development that looked at the impact of two major forest policies on the local communities.

Shin Wei has worked as a researcher for various university professors and as a teaching assistant for the LL.M course of International Environmental Law at UCL. She has also worked as a voluntary researcher at Global Witness and as a volunteer at the St. James’s Hospital in Leeds. She has a legal background, having completed a law degree (University of Leeds), a Masters of Law in Environmental Law (University College London) and the Legal Practice Course (Oxford Institute of Legal Practice).

Shin Wei enjoys reading and is a keen walker. She also enjoys playing musical instruments and travelling. Shin Wei speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, English and Malay. She would also like to take up Spanish lessons again.
