Martin Rands
Finance Director and Company Secretary
Martin Rands is E3G's Finance Director and Company Secretary, advising on financial and general management, governance and business development issues.
Martin's career encompasses main board appointments in both privately-owned and publicly-quoted groups of companies, with a particular emphasis on marketing services, advertising and media ownership. It includes eight years as Group Finance Director of Osprey Communications PLC, then one of the UK's top 30 leading integrated agencies, where his responsibilities included managing the group’s acquisition programme. He has many years of experience in corporate strategy, business development and financing and has, more recently, been involved in a number of successful start-up and fledgling companies.
Martin and his wife Liz reside in leafy Kew and have three daughters. In his spare time he enjoys deluding himself that he is a handy cricketer, despite a significant and growing body of evidence to the contrary. He is also a keen musician, playing guitar and singing in two semi-professional local bands. His other pastimes include liberating little white balls from local woodlands, while carrying a heavy bag loaded with expensively crafted sticks, and continuing his lifelong search for the perfect pint. Despite his outwardly normal demeanour he has supported Crystal Palace Football Club, man and boy.
He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and holds a BA in Economics and Politics from the University of Manchester.
